Saturday, September 18, 2010 – Don Dulmage, a member of Quinte Branch of OGS, will speak about going to Germany in
search of Palatine roots.
Saturday, October 16, 2010 –
Kingston
Branch member Ron Mann will tell us "The Story Told by a Friendship Quilt, " which encompasses Scottish
ancestors.
Saturday, November 20, 2010 – "Life in the Trenches." David Dossett, a local
artist who lived like a World War I soldier for two weeks during the filming of
"The Great War" and "Passchendaele", will describe what life was like for soldiers in the
Great War.
Saturday, January 15, 2011 – "My Interesting
Ancestor." Several members will speak about why their ancestor
is particularly interesting.
Saturday, February 19, 2011 – "Restoring Old
Monuments: How Art Conservators Use Reflectance Transformation Imaging to Read
Degraded Surfaces." Professors Alexander Gabov
and George Bevan will present the exciting results of their work with
high-resolution imaging of tombstones.
